About What’s Up Government:
What’s Up Government is a new television program that presents a truly unique examination of the current American Reinvestment Recovery Act and the policies impacting the minority owned and other classified small businesses. This show will be featured on Comcast Cable, and focus on educating its audience about significant public policies that are designed to revitalize our nation’s economy.
About What’s Up Productions and the Multimedia Training Institute:
What’s Up Productions is a for-profit company owned by the founder of Multi Media Training Institute (www.mmtidc.org), Lyn Dyson, plans to position the TV show as a platform for the discussion surrounding the Recovery Act and other empowering government policies. Lyn says, “we want What’s Up Government to not only offer a clear perspective for small business, but to also challenge leadership responsible for implementing the policy”. A trillion dollars is an unprecedented amount of funding for public good, and so we would like to give entrepreneurs in this environment, and the regulators at the local, state, and federal level effecting these policies an opportunity to help us understand how the funded programs will actually contribute to the public good.
The show will also serve as mentorship program for urban youth. Graduating students of the MMTI program under the supervision of seasoned professionals will be behind the camera, taping and editing this unique production. This show will be a learning and training program for young aspiring professionals to get real world experience. It also gives those students a direct link to the discussions affecting their neighborhoods in a very real way, and gives them a chance to change their conversation to be able to both comprehend and communicate policies that will directly effect their future. What’s Up Government will be an ongoing conversation, constantly reinforcing content from the show with additional electronic media content, like web only video content, Twitter and Facebook utilization, and Nationwide event participation to ensure first-hand experience of how to participate in this American Recovery and Revitalization process.
